(SPOT.ph) With the recently announced enhanced community quarantine in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many have turned to online shopping as a means to get their necessities delivered to their homes while still maintaining social distancing measures. The Department of Trade and Industry even released a memorandum on Monday, March 16, encouraging online retail shops to continue operating. However, with employees all over Metro Manila confined to their homes and workers (including delivery personnel) struggling to work through the conditions set in place by the quarantine, many online shopping services have either suspended or adapted their usual operations to adjust to the current state of the nation.
Here's a guide to online shopping platforms in the midst of the enhanced community quarantine:
Lazada announced on March 17 that their logistics operations would be temporarily suspended, though their grocery service LazMart is still available. They note in their announcement, however, that "extended delivery delays are to be expected." They also suspended cash-on-delivery payment options for selected services for the safety of both customers and staff.

Online fashion retailer Zalora announced that they would be suspending "all fulfillment of orders, deliveries, and processing of returns across the country" starting March 16, though their website remains active. They note that they will begin fulfilling orders again once the community quarantine is officially lifted.

Shopee shall remain operational during the quarantine period in NCR, according to an announcement posted on their Facebook page on March 16. "We will continue to provide consumers convenient and affordable access to essential supplies and other online shopping needs on our platform," reads the statement. They also noted that they are working to minimize shipment disruptions and taking the necessary measures to keep their products and services safe for all.
