The Doctor Is In: Vet Gives Free Online Consult for Pets

Dr. Sarmiento is a board exam topnotcher.

( In this time when we're all cooped up in our homes, probably no one is as happy as our furry friends. No more leaving for office in the morning, ridden with guilt for abandoning the adorable creatures for the day. But the "enhanced community quarantine" also means that your veterinary clinic may not be open and/or you have no way to get there since public transportation is suspended. Enter Dr. Mann Cyron E. Sarmiento, who has "decided to open [his] Twitter and Facebook accounts for vet inquiries."

In a Twitter post on March 22, Sarmiento explained that the goal of the free consult "is to help you determine whether your concern is emergent or not." From there, he can assist you in looking for an open vet clinic near you or advise home remedies. You can drop him a private message or comment on his social media posts. Don't forget: The doctor is in only until 12 a.m.

Sarmiento, who graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Central Luzon State University on April 2014, topped the Veterinarian Licensure Examination given by the Board of Veterinary Medicine of the Professional Regulation Commission in September 2014. He is currently studying to be an M.D. at St Luke's Medical Center College of Medicine in Quezon City.
