These Metro Manila Malls Honor Frontliners on Social Media
Hopefully these tributes go beyond just social media posts.
(SPOT.ph) As we trudge through the remaining days of the enhanced community quarantine and continue to brace ourselves for the ongoing effects of the current health crisis, we also take a moment to commemorate the frontliners (i.e. health workers, security guards, service staff) who continuously brave the current conditions in the country and go to work every day to provide the services many of us rely on each day. Know this for a fact: We would not survive this pandemic without them. We recently spotted some Metro Manila malls that paid tribute to frontliners through heartfelt Facebook posts expressing gratitude and appreciation for these modern-day heroes.
Here are some of the malls in Metro Manila that paid tribute to frontliners amidst the current pandemic:
Power Plant Mall
SM City North EDSA
In a statement released on March 17, the Department of Labor and Employment appealed to "the owners and managements of Filipino conglomerates," imploring these "big employers to financially help their employees to tide them over during this public emergency." With that in mind, we hope that the tributes and expressions of gratitude addressed to these frontliners go beyond just social media posts and that all workers and employees in the Philippines are paid and treated fairly, especially in these trying times. To the frontliners who continue to work each day to keep our country running, we salute you.
