(SPOT.ph) Last Saturday, June 7, Regina Gift Shop announced the sad news that they will be closing their doors for good. The popular shop in Greenhills Shopping Center has been around since 1977 and after 43 years of being the go-to gift shop for all occasions, they’re quietly packing up—emptying their beloved corner that’s played home to many generations of loyal shoppers and curious customers.
Facebook user Uriel Briones Cui took it upon himself to pay a visit to Regina for one last time. He posted a series of photographs in black-and-white, and some, in color—showing the current state of the well-loved store. “Had a chance to see the place one last time. Thank you for not being a cookie cutter novelty gift shop, and introducing my generation to foreign snacks and knick knacks,” Cui writes in the post.
In the photos, you can still see the sign “Regina” but instead of windows that displayed all the things that they had in store (and they had plenty), only empty shelves and collapsed racks remain.

Regina has served generations of customers. The shop was famous for carrying imported toys like G.I. Joes, LEGOs, as well as popular colognes like Nenuco, 23, and Denenes. They even had hard-to-find snacks! Regina was also a place to shop cute stationery, magazines, comic books, Trapper Keepers, and more.

While they physically close their shop, we know that the fond memories we all made in that little corner in Shoppesville will always be in our hearts. Till we meet again, Regina.
