Birkenstock Sandals Just Got a Modern Update and They're Perfect for Minimalists
They come in three no-frills designs!
(SPOT.ph) Birkenstock sandals are a cult-favorite fashion piece among minimalist dressers and normcore enthusiasts thanks to their timeless design and durable construction. The German brand can be traced back to the late 1700s when their trademark footbed was first developed. Since then, their styles have remained reliable silhouettes that many consider shoe-rack staples. Recently, their classic pairs just got a modern update and now they're more fuss-free than ever before: Birkenstock teamed up with British brand Toogood to revamp some of their OG pairs!
The Birkenstock x Toogood collaboration features three styles: The Forager Sandal, the Mudlark Sandal, and the Beachcomber Sandal. Each is a contemporary redesign of some of Birkenstock’s most popular pairs with sleek silhouettes and clean colorways inspired by ancient artefacts and sculptural design principles.
The Forager is a reworking of Birkenstock's Zürich sandal. While the original features a thick strap that extends from the base of the toes to the ankle, the updated version features a more open design with velcro closures in place of the classic metal buckles, creating a clean silhouette that's perfect for minimalists.

The Mudlark and the Beachcomber are both inspired by the classic Arizona—the two-strap sandal most would picture when Birkenstock first comes to mind. The Mudlark sports a padded leather exterior with a jagged sole and contoured stitching all over, giving the silhouette more detail and dimension.
You can get the Mudlark in three wearable shades:
The Beachcomber, on the other hand, takes the chunky sandal to its aesthetic limit with a puffy build, thick Velcro straps, and a hefty sole. We love the monochromatic colorways and no-frills design.

The Birkenstock x Toogood sandals are currently available on Toogood's website. Prices range from GBP £290 to £390 (roughly P19,389 to P26,075). We're hoping that these cool styles will be available in the Philippines someday!
