(SPOT.ph) In late August, sporting-equipment store Decathlon announced that they were opening two new branches in Metro Manila. In 2021, the brand partnered with SM Supermalls to expand their reach as well as their sports community in the country and this lead to the opening of new stores inside SM Malls. Their first QC branch at SM North EDSA opened in November and on December 18, they opened another store at SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City!
What to Expect From Decathlon Philippines' New Store in Pasay City
ICYDK, Decathlon is where you can buy all kinds of clothing, equipment, and accessories for sports, physical activities, and outdoor hobbies. The store offers about 5,000 products that cater to over 70 different sports. Prior to the opening of their two new stores in 2021, they had three branches in the Metro at Festival Mall in Alabang (their first outpost and flagship branch), Tiendesitas in Pasig City, and Masinag in Antipolo City.

Cool "Phygital" Features You Can Find at Decathlon Pasay
Where Decathlon's recently opened QC branch introduced the brand’s first concept store, their Pasay City outpost is leveling up their game with a "phygital" space. For those of you unfamiliar, the term "phygital" refers to the combination of the physical and digital worlds in one place—a concept particularly sped up by the COVID-19 pandemic wherein companies needed to quickly adjust to safety protocols and changing customer behavior in the so-called new normal.
Decathlon’s new 1,500-square meter store brings together the unbeatable experience of shopping the old-fashioned way with the kind of innovations that only tech can provide. Their SM Mall of Asia store offers next-day delivery and click-and-collect features that integrate the physical store and their website. That way, customers can still enjoy the experience of browsing their wide assortments on the shelf, but with the added speed and convenience of online transactions.
Inside the store, you’ll also find a cashless self-checkout counter to facilitate social distancing and speed up the purchasing process as well as a personalization area for customizing apparel bought in-store. Other cool digital features include a foot scanner for precise shoe-size measurement and a bike-and-charge station where you can use a stationary bike to power up your smartphone.
Decathlon’s newest branch is at L2 Entertainment Mall, SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City. It’s open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends.
