(SPOT.ph) So you've finally gotten the hang of a regular skincare routine! You're no longer skipping your nighttime routine and are now regularly putting on SPF. However, you might be forgetting one tiny little thing. Did you remember to give your lips some lovin'? No, we're not talking about somebody else's lips, we're talking about your juicy puckers that might have been neglected lately due to being covered up by a face mask. Thanks a lot, panini.
We may be slathering on the lip balm or lip mask whenever they feel dry, but did you know that apart from our faces, our lips need protection from the sun as well? Yep, you heard that right. Wearing SPF on your lips not only protects them from sun damage but also gives you a barrier against wind burn. Besides, no one wants dry and cracking lips when you're going in for a smooch. But where in the world would you get lip SPF you may ask? Well, we've got just the brand in mind: Local beauty brand Issy & Co., known for their skin tints and concealers, just launched their 2-in-1 lip product, the Solar Balm.
Complete your self-care routine with this lip balm from Issy & Co.:
We already have a million and one steps when it comes to getting ready so it doesn't really make sense if we're reaching for an additional SPF product to slather on top of our go-to lippie, right? With that in mind, Issy & Co. decided on the Solar Balm, a lip screen, as in a lip balm and sunscreen in one, that gives our lips a wash of color while giving nourishment and hydration. "To ask our customers to add another lip product to their routine is simply not practical so we wanted to create a product that solved all lip issues. That's how the Solar Balm came to be," says the brand.
The lip balm contains jojoba oil and meadowfoam seed oil which gives that nourishing and moisturizing feel when slathered on. It also has Broad Spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 30 PA+++ which gives you ample protection against the sun when you're out and about. Just be sure to re-apply your lippie every couple of hours like you would your normal sunscreen to maximize its benefits and protection.
The Solar Balm comes in two finishes: Glow and Natural. Those that love wearing lip gloss and lip oil would love Glow thanks to its glossy sheen finish. It comes in four shades called Playdate (cool soft pink), Bloom (warm poppy coral), Slick (warm nude brown), and Promiscuous (neutral berry mauve). While Natural has a semi-matte finish and comes in four shades called Petal (cool delicate rose), Sherbet (warm nude peach), Undone (cool rosy beige), and Melodrama (neutral pink mauve).
