SPOT Approved: This IG Shop's Form-Fitting Dresses Work Great on Any Body Type

(SPOT.ph) When it comes to fashion, we all know that we can't have everything, especially when it comes to form-fitting clothes. They either hang off your body like a hanger or a really tight glove; most of the time, the term "form-fitting" is an instant "no" thanks to  the fear it would only emphasize what you want to be hidden. Yes, there's been a ton of improvement regarding body positivity and inclusivity in fashion, but the thought of having that ideal body shape still remains. Regardless of this generalized thought process, us folks over at SPOT.ph firmly believe that beauty should not be caged to certain standards and that fashion should be a tool for people to freely express themselves, regardless of body shape. All that is why we regularly scour shops in hopes of sharing great finds that can cater to all: enter this local IG store I recently had to try out, Guanza PH.

Here's what you need to know about Guanza PH:

The Instagram shop officially became active in December of 2021. It quickly amassed a following. You might even think the name sounds familiar, and that's probably because you heard about celebrity Julia Barretto wearing one of their bestselling dresses at a popular haunt in La Union. We're sure you at least saw a few of the viral Tiktoks.

The shop's known for their sleek basics—think neutral dresses and bodysuits—that can be worn for a variety of occasions. The best part? While they currently have a limited range of products, no item costs over a thousand pesos. A steal, we know. 

Will their clothes look good on my body type?

Given the stretchy material that the clothes come in, we're pretty sure any item from the shop would look good on you. For full disclosure, I have a waistline of 27 inches and am a 34C in cup size. I bought the Coco Dress (P699) and it feels comfortable on my body; literally thanks to the cottony fabric that has a smooth buttery feel to it, and with how it accentuates my curves but does not highlight anything I don't want to be emphasized. 

Ladies that are a bit more blessed than I am need not worry as we also gave the Nicola Dress (P799) its own test run on our social media strategist, Marese. For full disclosure, her waistline is at 38 inches and she wears a 38C cup size. "I felt so confident because of how the dress was structured", she says, "It accentuated my body really well and I was able to move around despite it being a dress that is up to my ankles."

How do you style the Guanza PH dresses?

The dresses can be worn on their own but of course, that shouldn't stop you from expressing yourself with additional accessories. For casual hangouts with friends, you can dress down the figure-hugging dress with an oversized denim jacket and a pair of chunky sandals for a more relaxed 'fit. But if you want to dress to impress—your choices include your boss, your S.O., or yourself, of course—style it with a loose vest and strappy heels. However you want to style it, Guanza's dresses work as an unbeatable base to build on.
