First-Ever Direct Flight from Manila to Western Australia Starts in 2023

(SPOT.ph) As much as we love flying to the opposite side of the world, layovers can be inconvenient at times. Direct flights also don't come often, especially for local commercial carriers. But Philippine Airlines hopes to connect more Filipinos to the rest of the globe as they launch their new non-stop flight from Manila to Perth starting on March 27, 2023.

"This new PAL service will link the Philippines and Western Australia with non-stop flights for the first time," said the flag carrier in an announcement on December 7.

At present, Cathay Pacific, AirAsia, and Scoot travel to Perth from Manila with stopovers in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Kuala Lumpur respectively.

Here is the schedule of Philippine Airlines' direct flight from Manila to Perth and vice versa:

• PR 223 Manila-Perth – every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday departing at 12:05 a.m. local time, arriving at Perth Airport at 7:15 a.m.
• PR 224 Perth-Manila – every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday departing at 08:30 a.m. local time, arriving in Manila at 3:50 p.m.

This route will use the Airbus A321neo long-range aircraft and the trip will take only seven hours.

"More direct flights to WA means more opportunities for visitors to start their Australian holiday in Perth and then travel to our fantastic tourism regions across the State, boosting local businesses and helping to create jobs," Roger Cook, Deputy Premier of Western Australia and Minister for State Development, Jobs and Trade; Tourism; Commerce; Science, said in a statement to the media.
