There are those who love the community and artsy vibe of hostels, while others prefer the standard amenities of a city hotel. lyf (pronounced "life"), a hospitality concept by Ascott, combines the coliving atmosphere while providing top-of-the-line service. And in June 2023, the first lyf property in the Philippines is opening in Malate, Manila.
What We Know so far About lyf Malate Manila
Lyf by Ascott is a renowned brand that specializes in coliving spaces, offering a unique and vibrant living experience for young professionals, digital nomads, and global citizens. They have 21 properties in 10 countries, including lyf Funan in Singapore—Asia’s largest coliving property.
What sets lyf by Ascott apart is their focus on creating a community-driven environment, which hopes to make every individual part of a collective. Their properties are designed with modern aesthetics and cool shared spaces. Think of co-working areas, lounges, and even recreational facilities that foster interaction and collaboration.
True to lyf's concept, lyf Malate Manila also has a coworking space and communal lounge called Connect, where guests can work efficiently courtesy of the high-speed Internet, comfortable chairs, and plenty of power outlets. For those who prefer to work solo, they have the Nook, where you can get things done in a private working space. Other shared spaces are the Bond, a communal kitchen; Wash and Hang, the laundry area; Unwind, the rooftop clubhouse; and Burn, a 24-hour gym.
Room options range from private ones to shared units: One of a Kind (private studio), Side by Side (private twin), and All Together (two-bedroom or four-bedroom apartment units). An on-ground crew is also present to make sure that you have the best possible experience during your stay: lyf Champion (residence manager), lyf Guards (multitaskers), and Ambassadors of Buzz (community manager).
The colors also make lyf Malate Manila distinctly hip. The splash of yellow and green make for great background photos, whether you're taking selfies, groufies, or random shots for your social media.
