"Refurbished" Marikina Sports Center Is Now Open 24/7
The entire sports complex reopens to the public after a month.
(SPOT.ph) It's been said repeatedly that the Metro doesn't have many public sports facilities and open spaces. So it hits a nerve when one of the few places where people can train, play sports, and get active without breaking the bank closes to the public. This was the case when back in early July, the Marikina Sports Center closed its doors to the general public in preparation for the Palarong Pambansa. But hey, good news is upon us today, August 9, as the Marikina Sports Center just announced that they are reopening to the public.

In a post on their Facebook page, the Marikina Sports Center confirmed the good news to Marikeños and sports buffs all over the Metro. "STARTING AUG 9 2023 Open na po ang Marikina Sports Center... See you all there at the newly refurbished Marikina Sports Center!" their post reads.
Along with the announcement, the page also posted the updated operating schedule and rates for the use of its main facilities:
Guests can also book the Marikina Sports Center in advance for events and sports fests. This can be done through the Booking Office located on-site, which is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Mondays to Sundays.
The Marikina Sports Center was the main venue for the Palarong Pambansa festivities. Early this week, the sports complex trended on social media after pictures of the aftermath of the closing concert highlighted the culture of cleanliness and orderliness of Marikeños.
