Bump Cars, Trampolines + More: What We Saw at Araneta City's New Fiesta Carnival

(SPOT.ph) We've been hearing that Fiesta Carnival is returning this year; and after waiting for months, it's finally here. Relive the nostalgia at the new Fiesta Carnival that's home to an array of exciting rides and activities taking its place back in the OG Shopwise building. For the kids reading this, this is your chance to finally get in on the batang '80s to '90s experience that your titos and tiitas have been raving about sans time travel. Things aren't exactly the same as they once were, so we're taking you on a tour of the new amusement park to see what changed and what new core memories await you at Araneta City's latest attraction.

Here's what you should expect from Araneta City's new Fiesta Carnival:

Fiesta Carnival takes over all 13,000 square meters of the Shopwise building and houses rides for adults and small kids. The space is divided into several areas featuring its own Trampoline park, arcade, skating rink, kiddie rides, and carnival games. 

According to Lorna Fabian, Araneta City's VP for Leasing, "Fiesta Carnival holds a special place in the hearts and minds of guests before. With this exciting reopening, we want them to revisit their unforgettable experiences and bring their kids or grandkids to create new delightful memories."

A lot has noticeably changed in the park, but it still brings throwback energy. The park traded its extreme rides and big-kid thrills for smaller, kid-friendlier versions. Some OG rides, like the Bumper Car, Carousel, World Trip, Tiger Train, and Chicken Run from previous editions, have made a comeback with new paint jobs and a more modern take on the classic rides. 

Older kids and kids-at-heart need not fret about Fiesta Carnival being too young for their liking. The park also has tons of activities for the big kids. It has its own outpost of Wii Trampoline Park, a Korean-themed Roller Fever roller skating rink, F1 Go Kart, bowling lanes, arcade games, billiards tables, and karaoke rooms to keep them happy and entertained.

Currently, the amusement park is on a dry run. Guests can visit the park from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, but note that some rides and attractions are still under development. Attractions like the bowling lanes, karaoke rooms, Snow Playground, and the Boat Pool are still currently closed, but not to worry. Fiesta Carnival is having its grand opening on December 15, Friday. Once fully open to the public, all the park's rides and attractions will be open to the public.

Entrance is free at Fiesta Carnival, which means you can pick and choose which rides and attractions you want to participate in and pay only for that.

Arcade games can be accessed by purchasing a reloadable game card. Prices per game may vary. The load can be purchased starting at P200 with a P50 bonus load.

All of this sounds like a bangin' good time, and we're pretty sure kids and kids-at-heart everywhere will want a piece of this. Pro tip: head there early. Rides and attractions have long waiting times during peak hours and weekends. But, visiting after work or after school on weekdays should be the best experience.

While there's no shortage of restaurants and fast-food joints around the area, there are also food kiosks like Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and Potato Corner for quick bites inside the park.

Make sure to visit the park while you can. Representatives from Araneta City have informed SPOT.ph that the park is eventually slated to close again at an undisclosed time. The park's re-closure is due to the area's redevelopment into a mixed-use property for Araneta City.
