The Philippine International Pyromusical Competition Is Back

(SPOT.ph) After a four-year break from lighting up the Manila Bay skyline, the Philippine International Pyromusical Competition is back. Bring your friends, family, and loved ones to SM Mall of Asia on all Saturdays this summer starting May 11, to see the sky light up in a dazzling array of colors and patterns synchronized with upbeat tracks. The much-anticipated fireworks and musical show is celebrating its 11th run, and here's all you need to know about this returning nighttime spectacle.

Here's what we know about the upcoming Philippine International Pyromusical Competition:

Starting May 11 and all Saturdays until June 8, 2024, rush to SM Mall of Asia's Seaside Boulevard at 7:30 p.m. to see an amazing sky symphony we once again host the Philippine International Pyromusical Competition (PIPC).

Dubbed as the world's largest lights and music show, the PIPC is an annual competition among fireworks manufacturers from different countries. This year marks the 11th year of the competition and its first time coming back after being halted by the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Philippine International Pyromusical Competition schedule of events and line-up:

Fans of the Philippine International Pyromusical Competition would know that previous runs often featured competing countries from around the world, with Australia, Japan, Canada, and the United Kingdom being crowd favorites. This year, the PIPC will feature nine competitors: the Netherlands, Portugal, China, South Korea, Australia, Belgium, Germany, and The United Kingdom.

Each Saturday in the schedule features two shows from two competitors battling it out over the Manila Bay skyline in an amazing display of colors, timing, and synchronization.

As the host country, the Philippines cannot participate in the competition. However, we perform exhibition shows during the opening (May 11) and closing (June 8) ceremonies.

May 11:

May 18:

June 1:

• Portugal (Macedos Pirotechnico)
• China (Liuyang Jinsheng Fireworks Co., Ltd.)

June 8:

• United Kingdom (Pyrotex Fireworks)
• Philippines (Platinum Fireworkds Inc.,): A Closing Exhibition

How to get tickets to the Philippine International Pyromusical Competition:

You can book tickets to the different shows of the Philippine International Pyromusical Competition through SM Tickets and Ticket Max.

Online credit card purchases made through SM Tickets must be redeemed prior to ticket use. To ensure a smooth process, be reminded that ticket redemption through a representative is not allowed. Only the cardholder who transacted online can redeem the ticket. It is also advised to ensure that the name on the SM Tickets account used, the credit card used for the purchase, and a valid government ID presented upon redemption are all the same. 

Ticket prices range from P200 to P3,000, depending on the tier and date.

• Gold: P500
• VIP: P800
• Patron with Dinner: P3,000

For June 8, 2024 (Closing Ceremonies)
