Singapore Opens Outdoor Attraction: Sensoryscape in Sentosa
Sensoryscape officially launches March 14.
(SPOT.ph) You’re always guaranteed a great time when you’re on Sentosa Island in Singapore. Aside from the island's famous attractions such as Universal Studios Singapore, Madame Tussauds Singapore, and S.E.A. Aquarium, there's the most recent picturesque development on the island: Sensoryscape. This new attraction is a multi-sensory walkway that officially opens on March 14 on the island.

What is Sensoryscape?
Sentosa's Sensoryscape bridges two of the island's landmarks, from Resorts World Sentosa in the north to Sentosa's beaches in the south. For those who have been to Sentosa Island years ago, Sensoryscape was constructed in the same space where the iconic Sentosa Merlion was built.
The architecture companies behind the latest attraction are Serie + Multiply, which has made blending architecture with nature and technology possible—and Instagram-worthy. Across this 30,000-square-metre pathway are smaller attractions that stimulate all five senses: smell, sight, hearing, taste, and touch.
If you're coming from the south of Sentosa (Sky Garden at Sentosa), you'll begin with Glow Garden, followed by the Palate Playground, Symphony Streams, Scented Sphere, Tactile Trellis, and then you'll end at the Lookout Loop.
A number of these attractions use a mobile application called ImagiNite, available for iOS and Android users, that uses augmented reality to transform the spaces into a lively nighttime spectacle with computer-generated projections of nature. To use the application, the app can scan the QR code on the displays.
It is worth mentioning that Sensoryscape is free. There is no entrance fee to pass through this multi-sensory walkway.
What are the Sensoryscape attractions?
The Glow Garden has light posts in the shape of towering flower stalks on both sides of the pathway. It would be best to visit this at night as these are lit in different colors and accompanied by relaxing music. Right after this is the Palate Playground, the attraction where you can find edible plants, aromatic herbs, and exotic spices.
The next attraction would be Symphony of Steams, which has running water through its diagrid structure inspired by woven baskets. If you close your eyes, the space makes you feel like you're by the river or a small waterfall. Then there's the Scented Sphere that will tickle your olfactory senses with potted and hanging flora, filling the space with natural fragrances.
The Tactile Trellis houses plants with different kinds of textures, from the velvety Chinese Wormwood and feathery Asparagus to the Spiky Juniperus species. Then, at the end of the walkway is the Lookout Loop surrounded by Pink Mempat trees, which in the blossoming season, will have a similar experience to cherry blossom season in other countries.
Our tip is to start your Sensorsycape walk after dinner and start at the Glow Garden, as there's a scheduled firework show at Wings of Time at precisely 7:40 p.m. and 8:40 p.m. This would offer a great view while you're at the top of the flight of stairs at Glow Garden.
