(SPOT.ph) The Corner House in San Juan, designed by the Department of Architecture from Bangkok, is a new open-air neighborhood mall distinct from any other lifestyle hubs in Metro Manila.

Principal architect Amata Luphaiboon tells SPOT.ph: "It began with the Dichaves Family approaching us impressed by the success of our past project, the theCOMMONS Thonglor in Bangkok. The design brief was centered around the idea of providing a welcoming retreat for residents seeking relief from the hot and humid climate of Manila, while also fostering a vibrant and engaging atmosphere for social interaction and leisure activities."

Some of the four-storey space's unique features include the "floating glass boxes," that house food and beverage shops, partition systems with motorized louver walls and blinds, dichroic skylights that let in vibrant hues of sunlight, and the spiraling ramp that wraps around the entire building.
