Cebu Pacific Now Flies to Kaohsiung, Taiwan

(SPOT.ph) Taiwan is a small island nation just a few kilometers north of Batanes. But despite its relatively small land area, it boasts a diverse set of natural wonders and man-made attractions. Though most Filipinos often head to the capital city of Taipei and its neighboring cities, there's an entire world waiting to be discovered down south. Case in point: the city of Kaohsiung.

This year is the best time to explore a new side of Taiwan as starting August 16, Cebu Pacific Air will now have direct flights to Kaohsiung. Check out everything we know about Cebu Pacific's new destination, along with the details of their special limited-time-only launch sale starting at P1.

Here's what we know about Cebu Pacific's new Kaohsiung flights:

This August, Cebu Pacific will be launching its Manila-Kaohsiung routes. The under two-hour flight is Cebu Pacific's shortest international flight. 

As part of its launch, Cebu Pacific is offering a limited-time-only piso sale for this new destination. Book today until June 13, and fly to a new Taiwanese city with base fares starting at P1 (excluding fees and surcharges.) Flights included in this offer can be used from August 16 to October 25, 2024. Note that only 7 kilograms of hand-carry baggage is included in this fare. Additional baggage allowance, food, and other additional services can be purchased separately. 

Cebu Pacific Air will fly to Kaohsiung and back to Manila three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. 

Here is the flight schedule for Manila to Kaohsiung flights:

• Duration: 1.5 to two hours
• ETD: 5:15 p.m.
• ETA (Kaohsiung): 7:15 p.m.

Here is the flight schedule for Kaohsiung to Manila flights:

• Flight Number 5J 345
• Duration: Two hours and five minutes
• ETD: 8:00 p.m.
• ETA (Kaohsiung): 10:05 p.m.

What to do in Kaohsiung, Taiwan?

Kaohsiung is Taiwan's second-largest city and is located in the southwestern part of the island, approximately 1.5 to two hours away from Taipei by train. The city boasts attractions for all kinds of travelers, with lots of mountainous areas for hikers, a bustling street food culture, and even an exciting art scene for those hoping to get acquainted with Taiwanese and international artists. One of Kaohsiung's most famous spots is Cijin Island, where visitors can embark on a bike tour of the surrounding beaches and sightseeing locations and go on a food trip at the many seafood stalls in the area. 

Aside from Cebu Pacific, AirAsia and Philippine Airlines also fly direct to Kaohsiung from Manila.
