(SPOT.ph) Getting around Boracay conveniently often means hailing an e-trike on the main road. While you can ride a shared e-trike to most destinations, newer and off-the-main-road areas might require you to charter a special e-trike trip. Worse, if the destination is rarely visited by public transport, you might also need to request the trike to wait for you as you get on with your activity. This can easily jack up the price of the ride and derail your budget. But what can you do?
In the past, tourists just closed their eyes and paid up. But now, that's not necessarily the case. Introducing Boracay Xpress, a new ride-hailing app designed to make traveling around the island hassle-free. Here's what you need to know about this latest in-island travel app.

Boracay Xpress promises "seamless rides" around the island by facilitating easy transportation booking by partnering prospective passengers with partner drivers in the same area. It offers a transparent price breakdown and competitive, fair pricing following LGU standards.
Additionally, booking a ride with Boracay Xpress has a layer of security. Bookings made on the app can be tracked in real time and automatically come with insurance. Drivers are also equipped with first-aid and basic emergency training in case anything goes wrong.
To use the app, all you have to do is download the Boracay Xpress: Island Rides app on Google Play or the App Store. Register your phone number, and then you're all set to book.
The app is handy, especially during peak hours and rainy days, when hailing an e-trike on the road can be a nightmare.
Additionally, Boracay Xpress allows you to book more than just e-trikes. The app also has drivers for larger vehicles, such as a multi-cab, a van, or even a minibus. Thus, you can use the app to book regardless of group size. Gone are the days when big groups had to book separately and travel in a convoy to their destination.
Boracay Xpress is powered by Cebuana Lhuillier. Although it is privately owned, it has partnered with the Boracay Local Government Unit and the Boracay Land Transport Multi-Purpose Cooperative to ensure fair and competitive pricing— that way, both the passengers and the drivers benefit.
