10 Days of Art Brings You on an Art Walk Around Makati City

(SPOT.ph) Makati City is now officially an art gallery because 10 Days of Art is back.

Clear your schedule because from now until February 23, 10 Days of Art's 12th year brings a curated lineup of artists, installations, and activities designed to energize Makati City. By placing artworks in high-traffic spots—stretching from the Makati Central Business District to Circuit Makati—the event transforms the city into an open-air museum, where everyday commutes double as art walks. Check out what different art pieces you can spot when you go around Makati in the next 10 days.

Here's every art piece you will spot around Makati for 10 Days of Art:

Barrier Tape 2

Artist: SpY Studio
Location: Ayala Triangle Garden Area

Spanish urban artist SpY takes over an unsuspecting tree at the Ayala Triangle Gardens. The artist drapes it in thousands of red and white barrier tape strips, creating a striking contrast between organic form and industrial material that disrupts the usual greenery. Step closer and watch the installation come to life. The strips ripple, snap, and flutter with every gust of wind, creating an ever-changing dance of motion and sound. Stand still, and it surrounds you in a shifting rhythm of rustling plastic, creating an almost ephemeral experience.

Rewilding

Location: Ayala Triangle Garden Amphitheater and Greenwall

Rewilding is an exhibition curated by Jun Sabayton that brings together the works of Bjorn Calleja, Ivan Despi, Pauline Despi, Jo Gregorio, Jeff Hazel Ombrete, Peter Daniel Palanas, and Cherylee Sng. It a wrench into the humdrum Makati sprawl by showing visuals that invoke a sense of longing. Flickering across its concrete canvas, the visuals shift and morph, blurring the line between digital and organic and offering fresh perspectives on how each individual might reconnect with nature and embrace shared humanity.

Sentinel, Cognitum

Artist: Briccio Santos
Locations: Legazpi Active Park and Sky Lobby of the Sea Residences Makati

Briccio Santos continues his Sentinel series with his latest work, adding another chapter to the narrative he’s been shaping for the past four years. More than just occupying space in the park, these sculptures stand as watchful figures in a world teetering on uncertainty. Part guardian, part witness, they embody resilience in the face of contemporary chaos, their silent presence speaking volumes about the crises they confront. 

FotoMoto: Beneath the Streets

Location: Legazpi Underpass

The Legazpi Underpass transforms into a digital museum featuring photos looped in slideshows played with audio. This exhibit will stop you in your tracks and leave you mesmerized with beautiful imagery and even more powerful messages.

Walk With Me

Artist: TLYR Collective
Location: Paseo-Villar Underpass

Another collection that'll brighten up your daily commute is TLYR Collective's Walk With Me exhibit, which is displayed along the busy Paseo-Villar Underpass. This exhibit traces the collective's defining moments, layering augmented reality over personal history. It’s part reflection, part digital experiment, nudging passersby to consider their place in a world where technology moves faster than traffic.

Camera Obscura

Artist: Neal Oshima & FotoMotoPH
Location: Greenbelt 3 Sunken Park

As you do your usual shopping, take time to drop by Camera Obscura, where the ground becomes the screen for a living photo reel. Crisp, luminous images spill across the floor, transforming everyday moments into the cinematic. Rain or shine, this all-weather installation captures the rhythm of daily life, making the ordinary feel just a little more extraordinary. And for those who want to take a piece of the experience home, the installation lets you print images, where old-school photography meets hands-on, interactive art.

FotoMoto's I/Land Open Call

Location: 2/F Gallery Ayala Museum

FotoMoto's I/Land dives into the deep, complex ties between people and the archipelago they call home. After an open call last year, over a thousand photographs poured in from across the country, capturing intimate and expansive moments. From this stunning collection, 74 photographers’ works made the cut, set to take center stage at Ayala Museum’s 2nd Floor Gallery starting February 1.

The Words You Speak Become the Home You Live In

Artist: Kim Borja
Location: Palm Drive Activity Center, Glorietta 2

Kim Borja’s The Words You Speak Become the Home You Live In depicts a house built from language. Equal parts invocation, invitation, and quiet warning, it remind us that words, much like bricks, can either fortify or fracture. A visualization of how language shapes the spaces we inhabit, the walls we build, and sometimes, the ones that close in on us. Beneath its poetic facade, the piece also cracks open a deeper conversation on mental health, exposing the unseen weight of the words we live with.

Time Explosion

Artist: E.S.L. Chen and Triangulum
Location: 2/F Concourse B, One Ayala

ESL Chen’s Time Explosion scatters its presence across the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th levels of One Ayala. A self-taught photographer and founding member of FotomotoPH, Chen thrives in the space between paradox, time, and impulse, crafting visuals that feel both deeply personal and universally familiar. If you think what's on display now is awe-inducing, on February 15 to 16, Chen will display his artistic prowess during a large-scale live painting session.

Talking Heads

Artist: Jefrë
Location: U/G, near Activity Center, Ayala Malls Circuit

JEFRË, alongside lead exhibition technician Ian Gines, presents Talking Heads, an array of glowing, suspended, vacuum-formed plastic heads, each lit in vibrant neon and etched with words of affirmation in multiple languages. It’s part spectacle, part statement, blending the deeply personal with the universal. The piece depicts the important and indispensable role kind words play in our humanity and how they shape our opinions and viewpoints of the world.

Wonderland of Lights

Artist: Olivia d’Aboville
Location: Circuit Lane, Ayala Malls Circuit

French-Filipino artist Olivia d’Aboville lights up Circuit Makati with Wonderland of Lights, a dazzling fusion of organic textures and synthetic materials. Known for pushing textile techniques to new heights, she weaves natural fibers and recycled elements into a radiant display that subtly threads environmental themes into the urban landscape, proving that sustainability and artistry can go hand in hand—a luminous reimagining of cityscape meets nature.
