(SPOT.ph) The sleepy town of Oas, Albay may not be what first comes to mind when you think of travel destinations in the Bicol Region. You'd think about beautiful islands in Caramoan, the thrilling rides at CamSur Watersports Complex in Camarines Sur, or the jaw-dropping view of Lake Bulusan in Sorsogon. But with the win of Miss Philippines Catriona Magnayon Gray at the much-awaited Miss Universe 2018, Oas—her mother's hometown—may turn up in Google searches more. (It did for us!) And, as it turns out, it’s getting on the water park trend with the opening of Aqua Park on December 16 at Sabando-Ocampo Beach Resort in Barangay Maramba.
Sabando-Ocampo Resort is known for its water sports activities along Oas' coast on the western seaboard of Bicol. Nipa huts scattered all over the area complete the laid-back vibe this side of Albay. While you're there, you can also check out Oas' Trinity Islands in Barangay Cagmanaba, a group of islets that boast pristine beaches, lush trees, and low-lying hills that make for great travel photos.
