Lio Tourism Estate Opens Another Eco-Friendly Resort in El Nido

More reasons to visit El Nido.

(SPOT.ph) Lio Tourism Estate, a tourism development by Ayala Land, is known for its eco-friendly practices and sustainable policies. This goes beyond the use of shampoo dispensers (in lieu of those small plastic bottles often found in hotels), but is—more importantly—rooted in educating their staff and the local community about environmental preservation. As this continues to draw a very eco-conscious crowd, Lio Tourism Estate is set to open its newest bed and breakfast, Huni Lio, in June.

Huni, which is a Filipino word for the sound that a bird makes, is Ayala Land's line of chic-yet-affordable beachfront resorts. The first Huni opened on Sicogon Island in Iloilo in July 2018.

"Huni offers good value for couples and groups seeking to better appreciate nature, to try out new activities or to just relax. Wherever a Huni property is found, guests can be assured of a relaxing vacation. We envision that in the future, guests will be in the habit of booking a Huni room each time they want to explore an Ayala Land destination," said Joey Bernardino, group director for sales and marketing of Ten Knots Development Corporation (a subsidiary of Ayala Land), in a statement.

Huni Lio features 50 rooms in a two-storey building surrounding a swimming pool. Like the rest of Lio Tourism Estate, structures don't go beyond the height of coconut trees. It also has an indoor restaurant, which has a capacity of 50 people; a function room, which can fit up to 25 people; and a conference room that's enough for 50 people. Of course, El Nido is popular for its must-not-miss island-hopping tours, which you can easily book through the assistance of Huni Lio's front desk.
