Antipolo's Hinulugang Taktak Reopens With Exciting Attractions
"Tayo na sa Antipolo..."
(SPOT.ph) Aside from the Chocolate Hills of Bohol and Rice Terraces of Banaue, another illustration you've probably seen in your Sibika at Kultura books is that of Hinulugang Taktak in Antipolo City. But you may have not seen it in real life, despite the proximity of Rizal Province to Metro Manila. Finally, here's your chance to plan a road trip to Hinulugang Taktak as they reopen with exciting attractions this 2020.

The 21-meter waterfalls used to be a popular weekend destination, until poor waste management and lack of proper sewage got the best of it in the '90s. It was closed for rehabilitation in the early 2010s, and was reopened to the public in 2015. The renovated park features cottages, which you can rent for P500 a day, and a swimming pool where you can take a dip for P50.

Five years later, the place now sports new facilities for the adventurous traveler: a spider web platform, hanging bridges, and a wall climbing facility, as shown by photos shared by former mayor Jun Ynares and his wife, current Antipolo mayor Andeng Ynares, in a Facebook post.
Now, you'll definitely be singing "Tayo na sa Antipolo."
Hinulugang Taktak is in Barangay Dela Paz, Antipolo City, Rizal. Entrance fee is at P30.
