Yes, You Can Do Your Part to Help the Planet at Home
In time for this year's edition of Earth Hour.
(SPOT.ph) There are little steps you can do every day that can add up to making a big difference. With the enhanced community quarantine in place, we have already seen the changes that come with minimal cars on the streets: bluer skies and cleaner air all over the Metro, for one.
On March 28, you can do your part in helping our planet breathe a little easier. For this year's Earth Hour, everyone is encouraged to switch off the lights for an hour starting at 8:30 p.m. as a "show of strength, hope, and solidarity with everyone across the globe" for the health of "our shared home," according to WWF Philippines. It's a bit different from Earth Hour events in the past few years, which had people biking in the dark to attending music gigs with the lights off.
Beyond Earth Hour, you can also contribute in saving the planet by segregating your waste, bringing a reusable water bottle to work, cutting down on single-use cutlery, or planting a tree every year on your birthday. If you have more ideas in mind, you can also post them on social media with the hasthtag #EarthHourPH2020. Hopefully, when this whole thing is over, we show more compassion for others and for our home.
#EarthHourPH2020 is on March 28, 8:30 p.m. For updates, follow WWF Philippines on Facebook.
