At exactly 6:30 p.m. this evening, June 24, Manila City will light up in tribute to Filipino frontliners still battling the COVID-19 pandemic.
Today marks the 449th Araw ng Maynila, and the simultaneous lighting is part of a long string of events led by Manila Mayor Isko Moreno. Earlier in the day, the public official participated in two wreath-laying events, a groundbreaking, a meeting, and a mass.
During this evening's tribute, the following heritage sites will light up simultaneously to celebrate and honor the doctors, nurses, healthcare workers, guards, and all other frontliners: the Manila clock tower, the National Museum, the Rizal monument, Fort Santiago, the Manila Central Post Office, Jones Bridge, and Mehan Garden.
You can view the lighting online through the Manila Public Information Office's Facebook page.
