One of Palawan's Famous Luxury Resorts Is Closing Its Doors
Sheridan Beach Resort is the gateway to the underground river.
(SPOT.ph) Tourism, while slowly restarting, remains to be the most hit industry in the country. Hotels and resorts are closing one by one, local guides are forced to find other jobs, and small communities that are dependent on droves of travelers are losing their income. Even a luxury resort as famous as Sheridan Beach Resort and Spa in Sabang Beach, Puerto Princesa, Palawan has announced its closure effective March 20.
Statement from Palawan Sheridan Beach Resort and Spa
Management thanked not only their guests, but also "the people of Sabang who have welcomed [them] with open arms" as well as the "men and women who make up the Sheridan team."
Sheridan Beach Resort and Spa is also hopeful for the town. "The future is bright in Sabang. There's no question that better opportunities still lie in wait for this small patch of paradise. Palawan beckons and people WILL continue to come."
Sheridan Beach Resort and Spa is known as the gateway to the famous Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park. It claims to be "the first green resort in the Philippines," championing environmental sustainability along Sabang Beach.
