(SPOT.ph) Public spaces are gradually opening up and people are slowly getting back into social activities. One such activity, which combines the leisure of strolling about a mall with the excitement of a sporting pastime, is making its return from being put on ice, so to speak. That’s right, the SM Megamall ice skating rink is finally reopening on Monday, April 11.
The ice skating rink is located on the fifth level of the Mega Fashion Hall of SM Megamall. Starting April 11, ice skating in Megamall is open every day to fully vaccinated persons, from ages 12 years old and above.

Face masks and physical distancing are still required and vaccination cards will be checked upon entry.
SM Megamall Ice Skating Reopens on April 11th
The rates and time slots for ice skating at SM Megamall have yet to be announced. However, SM Mall of Asia’s (MOA) ice rink—which reopened last January—offers a two-hour pass that costs P330 and an afternoon pass that costs P499 (both with skate rentals included). MOA’s ice rink is open from 12:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Mondays to Wednesdays, and 12:15 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. on Thursdays to Sundays.
For children in need of supervision, guardians can also purchase an additional Companion Pass for P100 or a Polar Bear support for P100 per hour. Meanwhile, for those who need to stash their valuables as they skate, locker fees are priced at P50 per usage.
SM Megamall's ice skating rink is one of the more popular areas of the mall, prior to its closure during the quarantine. The mall has had a skating rink since 1992, making it a rather prominent figure in the childhoods of those who grew up in the area. It hosts a number of fun activities and events, such as figure skating and hockey, and is undeniably the chillest place in the mall to pass the time with your friends.
