(SPOT.ph) Ever get so locked into playing a game that hours—maybe days—go by and the people closest to you even start to get worried? Ever wish you could just take a vacation, not to actually go out in the sun but instead just sit in front of your PC set up to game for days on end? It’s certainly a peculiar dream—we’re not judging (in fact: we’re with you on this one)—but now you have a way for making it come true, as the first esports and gaming hotel in South East Asia has just opened up in Malaysia.
Here’s what we know about SEM9 opening the first esports gaming hotel in Malaysia:
Located in Senai, Johor, Malaysia, the SEM9 Senai Esports Hotel is now open to the public, with 122 rooms available for booking. The hotel has a variety of room types available, from their classic suites that resemble the typical rooms you’d find at hotels and resorts worldwide to their gaming suites, which come with gaming computers set-ups powered by top-of-the-line Nvidia graphics (including the RTX 3090 and 3060 GPUs), comfy gaming chairs, and quality gaming peripherals, such as gaming mice, keyboards, and headsets.
The gaming suites come in Double, Triple, and Deluxe room sizes, depending on if you’re checking in as a duo, trio, or squad of four, respectively. Here, you can seamlessly hop onto your gaming set up straight out of bed, and vice versa when it’s time to get some sleep.
Meanwhile, the S9 Cozy gaming suite is more for your casual, single day check-ins, as it comes with a couch, bean bags, and a PlayStation 5, to simulate more of a recreational room, rather than a bedroom. Lastly, you can book the S9 Executive if you want to keep play and rest a bit more separated, as the suite comes with a connected living room, where the computer set-ups are located.
Other facilities of the hotel that you could visit are the café, which serves Malaysian cuisine inspired by popular gaming titles, and the merchandise store, which sells SEM9 team jerseys and exclusive collectibles of the esports team. The hotel also provides parking and a free shuttle to the Senai International Airport (a three-minute walk from the hotel), except on Saturdays.
SEM9 is the Southeast Asian esports organization that founded the hotel. They have teams in various competitive games, such as PUBG Mobile, Call of Duty Mobile, League of Legends, and League of Legends: Wild Rift.
Prices for booking a suite start at RM 220 (approx. P2,650) for full day and RM 115 (approx. P1,385) for half day. These prices are still subject to tax.
