(SPOT.ph) Western Visayas, specifically Panay Island, is well known as a summer destination because of the many white-sand beaches peppered throughout the provinces of Aklan, Iloilo, and Guimaras . (Not to mention that Boracay is just off its coast.) And if you're looking to complete your tropical island getaway, there's the province of Capiz and its capital, Roxas City, where you can get delectable servings of your favorite seafood dishes. It's also now easier than ever to fly to the Seafood Capital of the Philippines, thanks to AirAsia Philippines' newest route from Manila to Roxas.

AirAsia's Manila to Roxas City Flight
The maiden MNL-RXS flight, Z2343, departed from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 4 at 7:15 a.m. on June 16, Thursday, and arrived at the Roxas City Airport at 8:30 a.m. with 180 guests. The return flight, Z2344, left Roxas City at 9:10 a.m. and arrived in Manila at 10:25 a.m. AirAsia is scheduled to fly to and from Dumaguete City three times a week: every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday morning.
"We are happy to have successfully launched our maiden flight in Roxas. The pandemic may have pushed back the opening but it also allowed us to focus on strengthening the viability of this route. Expect AirAsia to be driving foreign and local tourists to experience the best of Capiz. We are confident that this expansion will also help in stimulating commerce and growth in other booming sectors, such as ICT and trade," said AirAsia Philippines CEO Ricky Isla.
