(SPOT.ph) With the rise of social media, the words "Instagram-worthy" and "aesthetic" have become buzzwords for destinations and attractions. You have Instagram-worthy hostels, aesthetic cafes, and IG-worthy museums. Lakbay Museo, an indoor attraction at S Maison at Conrad Manila in Pasay City, boasts 1,000 square meters of Instagram-worthy displays and interactive stations showcasing the best of the Philippines. It opened to the public on July 12, 2019. But after three years, the Millennial Concept Factory Inc. announced that Lakbay Museo is officially closing its doors by the end of July.

"Served more than 30,000 students and additional thousands of online and walk-in guests every month, Lakbay Museo was able to spread awareness for love of country. In just a span of eight months prior to pandemic, this millennial-interactive museum was able to touch more than 450,000 hearts to be more patriotic and be proud of what the Philippines can offer to the world," the management said in a statement released on July 7.
What to See at Lakbay Museo
Lakbay Museo is divided into 11 areas with separate stations for the National Capital Region, Ilocos Region (Region I), Cagayan Valley (Region II), Central Luzon (Region III), Southern Tagalog (CALABARZON and MIMAROPA), Bicol Region (Region V), Western Visayas (Region VI), Central Visayas (Region VII), Eastern Visayas (Region VIII), Cordillera Administrative Region, and the whole island of Mindanao.
Visitors can learn more about the region's festivals, such as the Pahiyas in Quezon, or traditional houses, like Batanes' Ivatan house and the bale of the Ifugao, as well as regional cuisines through life-sized displays. It also houses a large collection of local vinegar (from sukang Iloko to sukang paombong), bagoong (from bagoong alamang to bagoong sisi), coffee beans and roasts (from barako to alamid), and rice grains (from the Ifugao's minaangan to the Mountain Province's ominio).
Like most attractions in Metro Manila, Lakbay Museo had to temporarily close amid the pandemic. It reopened on November 10, 2021.
Lakbay Museo is open until July 31. It is located at G/F S Maison at Conrad Manila, Marina Way, Pasay City. Tickets, which are priced at P799, includes a two-hour interactive tour.
