(SPOT.ph) Whether it's a luxurious staycation in a five-star hotel or an all-out vacation in an exclusive island resort somewhere in the Philippines, indulgent getaways are almost always hard to resist. We work hard five days a week, after all—not to mention take care of the kids (whether human ones or the furry kind), attend to other members of the family, do household chores, and just deal with life basically. We do deserve a break sometimes, and it can be as quick as an overnight stay at a luxe Makati hotel room like The Alpha Suites' Signature Penthouse.
Here's everything you need to know about the Signature Penthouse of this Makati hotel:
The Alpha Suites, which opened in Barangay Bel-Air in 2018, is a serviced residence by the same people behind Balesin Island Club. That being said, it has almost the same luxurious vibe as the island resort, including a Balesin-inspired restaurant called the Balesin Islander, and a health and wellness hub called the Aegle Wellness Center. Their latest addition is the Signature Penthouse, which opened to the public on May 17.
Located on the 50th floor (yes, ear-popping elevator moment included), the Signature Penthouse gives guests a view of Makati's skyline from way above ground. The first things you see as you open the door are the living area and dining space with a fully equipped kitchen—which instantly makes you think: where's the rest of the suite?

Go past the cabinets (there are lots of them), and open another door. This leads you to your very own lounge, a king-sized bed, and the cherry on top—a whirlpool tub on a non-slippery and spacious platform. This side of the suite has a panoramic view of the city, which you can enjoy either while lying in bed or enjoying a dip in the tub.

Everything’s automated, too: the window shades, which you can operate with a remote control or switches on the wall; the 40-inch television that goes down into the cabinet below it with a push of a button; as well as lighting and air-conditioning controls. These things always pique our interest—this button-pushing author, specifically (idiomatic pun intended).
As a serviced residence, The Alpha Suites’ Signature Penthouse has everything that guests need, especially for long-term stays. It has a washing machine and dryer, a refrigerator with an ice dispenser, a microwave, a wine chiller, a stove with a range hood, and a coffee machine. There’s even an oven, an apron and mitts, and a complete set of pans and other kitchenware—enough to make a family feast just because you can.
What to Do
If the 120-square-meter Signature Penthouse with two televisions and a jetted tub is not enough to keep your boredom at bay, you can head to The Alpha Suites' lagoon-style swimming pool. They have an 80-meter swimming pool divided into three sections: the circular kiddie pool, the lagoon-style pool for adults, and the lap pool for those who can't miss a full-body workout.

They also have indoor courts for tennis, basketball, badminton, and squash; a boxing and martial arts arena; pilates and yoga studios; and a high-definition virtual golf simulator. If you still have the energy to spend (or calories to burn), head on over to their 500-square-meter gym, which has top-of-the-line equipment so that you can still continue your drills even when you're away from home.

The more relaxing activities include a game or two at the billiard hall, a private screening room with comfortable seats, and a game room. They also have the Aegle Wellness Center, which is known for its holistic programs.
Where to Eat
The Alpha Suites has nine world-class restaurants—that you can also find at the Balesin Island Club—to satisfy your hungry stomach. For your Japanese cuisine cravings, there’s Sakura; and for anything Greek, there’s Mykonos. Other restaurants are Tang Palace, Toscana Ristorante Italiano, Mark’s Prime Rib, Salathip, A Taste of France, and Costa del Sol.

Balesin Islander is their all-day restaurant, where buffet breakfast is also served. You can enjoy your plate either inside the resto or by the pool, then do the other activities available at this Makati hotel all over again.
