Japan Lifts Suspension on Valid Single and Multiple-Entry Visas

(SPOT.ph) Japan is always one of those top-of-mind destinations for Filipino travelers which is why when they announced that they will be easing travel restrictions starting October 11 a lot of us jumped with joy and started to plan our revenge trips to the country. However, despite the update on travel requirements, one thing that still holds back Filipino travelers from booking their flights and accommodations is the visa requirement. Currently, all travelers looking to enter the country must apply for a visa, even those that have valid multiple-entry visas issued before the pandemic. But, in a recent announcement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, it looks like that's not going to be the case anymore starting October 11.

Japan lifts suspension of valid multiple-entry visas:

According to a post by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, "The validity of single-entry visa and multiple-entry visa which had been issued by Embassies, Consulate-Generals, and Consulates of Japan in all countries/regions by December 2, 2021, that have been temporarily suspended, will take effect again from 0:00 am (JST) on October 11, 2022."

This comes as a surprising yet welcome change to the previous policy which temporarily suspended the validity of all visas granted prior to the pandemic. Under said policy, even those with valid visas were required to re-apply for single entries, thereby canceling their original multiple-entry one.
