Tour Fort Santiago for Free on Halloween Night, Here's How
Pay respects to those who perished within the Walled City.
(SPOT.ph) Intramuros is offering a free guided night tour around Fort Santiago on October 31, the eve of All Saints' Day, allowing Filipinos to remember those who died from war and other crimes that took place within Manila's historic walled city.
Visitors can avail of the free guided tour from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with no prior registration or reservation required. The tour will last for one hour and will cover areas around Fort Santiago, including old Spanish barracks, dungeons, and other historical ruins.

Interested participants only need to visit the Intramuros Visitors Center inside Fort Santiago to avail of the free guided night tour.
While the tour itself is free of charge, visitors need to pay a minimal fee of P75 to enter Fort Santiago. Children below 18 years old, senior citizens, students, persons with disability, and government employees are eligible for a discounted entrance fee of P50 upon presentation of a valid ID.
Only souvenir and amateur photography are allowed when visiting Fort Santiago and Intramuros. Those who want to do professional shoots, either commercial or non-commercial, should get a permit from the Intramuros administration.
Respect Fort Santiago
While a night tour of the old Spanish fortress on Halloween may sound thrilling, the Intramuros administration reminded visitors to respect Fort Santiago and its dark history.
"Fort Santiago is a sacred ground. Countless have suffered and died here as victims of war and other crimes against humanity," it said.
"To ensure that the sanctity of the place is maintained, only activities that promote remembrance, commemoration, and contemplation are allowed," it added.
Visitors are also encouraged to offer flowers at the White Cross memorial, which serves as the final resting place of around 600 people who died in Fort Santiago during World War II.
