10 Malls With Dog Parks in Metro Manila

(SPOT.ph) Let’s face it: There aren’t enough open spaces in the city where our furbabies can roam free. Wouldn’t it be nice to have them with us when we're out passing time on weekends?

Several malls in Metro Manila have already established pet-friendly policies, but it usually comes with strict caveats: dogs must be in a diaper, on a leash, or in a stroller for them to be granted entrance. Fortunately, some malls are taking a step further by providing our furbabies with a safe space to have fun within mall premises through dog parks.

Dedicated dog parks with playgrounds and obstacle courses like Paw Park, The BarkYard, and Pet Park are taking Philippine malls by storm following the pet boom during the pandemic, much to our heart’s content. The best part? Everything on this list has a free entrance.

Vertis North

Located on the Ground Floor
North Avenue, Quezon City
Open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Robinsons Magnolia

Located at the Level 2
Doña Hemady Street corner Aurora Boulevard, New Manila, Quezon City
Open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

SM North EDSA

Located at the Sky Garden
EDSA corner North Avenue, Quezon City
Open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

SM Aura Premier

Located at the Skypark on Level 5

U.P. Town Center

Located at the Level 1
Katipunan Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City
Open from Tuesday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.; and every Saturday and Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.

It's worth mentioning that The BarkYard at U.P. Town Center is divided into two sections with pet safety in mind: an area for small breeds and an area for big breeds.

SM City Fairview

Eastwood Central Plaza

We know, we know. Eastwood Central Plaza isn’t a technically mall, but Bark Central used to be located in Eastwood Mall before it was moved here for a bigger space to take in more pets. Dogs must be leashed at all times, while owners must be at least 19 years old to enter Bark Central.

Robinsons Galleria

Located at Level 3, ADB Wing
EDSA corner Ortigas Avenue, Quezon City
Open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Ayala Malls Manila Bay

Located on the Ground Floor
Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard corner Aseana Avenue, Paranaque City
Open daily from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Glorietta

Located at Palm Promenade, across Glorietta 2
Palm Drive, Ayala Center, Makati City
Open from Tuesday to Thursday, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.; and from Friday to Sunday, from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Here's another mall that made the switch to a bigger location but is still nearby. Previously inside Glorietta malls, The BackYard can now be enjoyed under the sun.

Take note of these pet policies for dog parks in major malls:

SM Paw Park

Digital pet IDs in the form of QR codes are required to enter Paw Parks, which you can sign up for at SM Super Pets Club.

Paw Park rules:

• Leash your dog before leaving the park
• Owners must clean up after own dogs
• Dogs must be at least four months of age and be up to date with vaccinations
• Dogs that are aggressive, disruptive, in heat, or ill are not allowed
• Children under 12 are not allowed inside without adult supervision
• Only a maximum of two dogs per adult is allowed
• Human food and drinks are strictly prohibited

Any person bringing dogs into the park assumes legal responsibility for any damage, disease, or injury to persons, other dogs, or property caused by the dog(s).

Ayala Malls The BarkYard

Physical pet IDs are required to enter not just The BarkYard, but the Ayala Mall premises as well. You can get a pet ID for free at the concierge desk upon presenting the necessary requirements for it, including:

• Fully accomplished Ayala Malls Pet ID Application Form
• 1x1 pet photo
• Original and photocopy of the latest vaccination record of the pet
• Photocopy of five-in-one (for dogs) or four-in-one (for cats) vaccination record of the pet

The pet ID is valid for as long as the anti-rabies vaccination is valid.

The BackYard rules:

• Not recommended for children who are 12 years old and below or dogs under six months old
• No animals other than dogs are permitted within the park
• Dogs must be supervised by owners at all times
• Dogs are prohibited from digging. Any holes created must be filled in by owners before leaving the park
• Owners are advised to observe the necessary precautions when introducing their pets to others
• Owners must clean up after pets and dispose of waste in the provided trash bins
• Human food and drinks and dog treats are not allowed
• Owners will be asked to remove aggressive dogs and dogs in heat from the park

In case of accidents, pet owners should notify mall security and cover the victim’s medical expenses related to the incident as per Republic Act 9482 Section 5.

Robinsons Pet Park 

Digital pet IDs from Robinsons Malls Happy Pets Club are required to enter the Pet Park. Download and register in the RMalls+ app then tap on the “Happy Pets” category to find the form to fill out for a pet ID.

An accomplished form will produce a pet profile with a QR code, which will serve as an entry pass to the Pet Park. Existing members can also avail of multiple pet passes in the app.
