The main draw of JPark Island Resort and Waterpark is not only the wide stretch of white sand, but also its astounding waterpark and water activities. They have an Amazon River pool with a light current that can take you on a leisurely ride; a Wave Pool, where you can ride the waves as if you’re actually on the beach; and pools for younger kids. The latter features different themes, such as Captain Hook’s Pool, a Toddler’s Pool, a Beach Pool, and an Island Pool. For added adventure, you can even go on their water slides. There’s the open body slide and the tube slide, which is their longest slide at 157 meters. If you’re up for an adrenaline rush, try out the Space Bowl, a steep slide that plunges you down a spiraling bowl and into a 6.4-foot deep pool.

Other than the waterpark, there’s so much more to explore. There’s the game room, a mini-golf course, water bikes, an electric car ride, a fitness center, and even a spa. You probably need at least a few days here—not just an overnight trip. They also have 10 different dining venues, so you’ll never run out of choices. You can take a trip through their beachside dinners at Havana or feast at The Abalone’s buffet where they offer the freshest seafood and choice cuts of meat and high quality produce.

Being an international hotel chain, Dusit Thani delivers no less than exceptional service. Dusit Thani Mactan, in particular, is widely renowned for its wide—get it?—beachfront, which is best enjoyed from their equally wide infinity pool. But if you don’t feel like getting wet, you can also take in a similar view at the Sunset Bar. Needless to say, it’s best to go at sunset. But what you might not expect is the billiards tables.

If you’re looking for a meal, you can check out the Tradewinds Café, where you can enjoy classic Filipino cuisine or try out their international buffet. They also have their authentic Thai restaurant from their Manila Branch named Benjarong. Considering the hotel chain originated from Thailand, you can bet that this is their specialty in dining.

Solea Mactan is perfect for a quick escape to forget about city life, if only for a bit. It‘s a huge garden resort surrounded by seven pools and a panorama of the sea. There’s even one pool filled with an inflatable mini-city, where kids and adults can jump around and play on. The infinity pool also sets up the scene over the ocean for an Instagram photo.

Moving on to the food, they have several dining options such as Earth where you can enjoy an international buffet, and Sandy Point Restaurant where you can order their specialty of grilled ala carte items. Aside from all the eating and playing, you can also find yourself looking to relax in a spa. Look no further as they have their own in-house spa, Nouvea Spa, which offers different services that range from oil massages, dry massages, facial body scrub, and even a body wrap.

Tambuli Seaside Resort and Spa is a quiet haven hidden in Maribago. When you first arrive, it might seem like a normal beach resort, but once you enter their lobby, you’ll start to notice how airy it feels. You’re surrounded by nature here. The trees are so huge, because not a single one was cut on the property since it was built.

The al-fresco set-up adds to their beach vibes, and allows for a cooler environment around their property. However, despite the vastness, there’s still a number of activities present here—not just nature! They have a huge pool where guests can lounge around, but also have a smaller pool, nearer to the bar. This is where you can enjoy Happy Hour: Buy 1, Take 1 on their signature cocktails and beers, every Saturday afternoon. For food, head on over to Caverna, their signature restaurant that boasts a luxurious palette of amazing flavors that focus on Mediterranean cuisine.

Cebu White Sands Resort and Spa lives up to its name with its—you guessed it!—white sand beach front that stretches over the two-hectare property. Choose from their three wings, depending on the vibe you’re going for: the Heritage, Courtyard, or Mabuhay Wings. The Heritage Wing has a rustic and cozy ambiance that resembles traditional Filipino homes. The Courtyard Wing offers minimalist spa-inspired rooms that are carefully furnished with Asian influences. This includes an abundance of Japanese koi ponds around the area. Lastly, the Mabuhay Wing is located in the resort’s only high-rise structure, giving you an all-encompassing view of the compound, and even Mactan Island itself.

They offer a wide array of activities, like island hopping, paddle boarding, parasailing and more. But if you want something more chill, you can head on over to the Anahata Spa or bond with your family or loved ones in their dining options—Patio Gavino Restaurant, where you can find Asian and Western style dishes, or the Buenavista Restaurant, famed for its grilled seafood and meat.

Bluewater Maribago tries their best to embody the spirit of “amuma.” It’s the Visayan word that’s associated with caring, nurturing, and tending. So customer service is evidently important to them.

You’re also in for a treat if you enjoy Filipino snacks, as they were awarded by SunStar’s Best of  Cebu for Best Ensaymada and Best Ube Cheese Pandesal, both are available in the Filipino merienda buffet on the afternoons.

Their beachfront has thatch huts with beach beds for authentic beach feels. They also have a beach volley court—what’s more Pinoy than that? They also have their Aquamania Water Sports activities that include jet-skiing, scuba-diving, snorkeling, and even island hopping. You can inquire with their service desk to book your aqua adventures with them.

The Mark Resort is a fairly new resort in Mactan and it comes with its own cruise yachts. One of them is The Mark Cruise, the largest two-storey catamaran in Cebu. On it, you can go on a luxurious trip to marine sanctuaries for some snorkeling. Or you can just stay on deck, sipping cocktails for the ‘Gram.

If scuba diving is more up your alley, the resort has a dive pool for beginners to practice before heading out to sea. (This is important if you’re still looking to get certified!) Kids can also enjoy their stay here in the Kids Club, which features a jungle gym, a cypress tree playground, a duplex playroom, and even a Lego playroom.

Costabella is the longest operating resort in Mactan. It’s been around for 37 years, but it doesn’t even show—not unless you count their heartwarming service. The rooms are markedly Filipino but also have elements that can look Balinese. While the design catches the attention, it is the beachfront boardwalk that takes the cake. The weatherproof white woven furniture contrasts the blue of the water so nicely, a scene that makes for a refreshing vibe. They also have the typical resort amenities like 24-hour room service, island hopping, and a waterslide. What sets them apart is that they have their own area for snorkeling, right by a coral reef.
