"World's Smollest Gallery" Is an Exhibit That's All About Cute Pets

(SPOT.ph) Escolta was the central business district in Manila in its heydays, with the First United Building (a.k.a. Perez-Samanillo Building) its busiest establishment. Now, the structure houses incubation spaces, creatives' offices, a cafe, a resto-bar, and an artisan bazaar. Its latest addition is the "world's smollest gallery," which runs from May 1 to 31 under the ground-floor staircase of the First United Building (FUB). Admission is free.
The microgallery, aptly called Tutas of Manila, features pet portraits of FUB's beloved dogs: Murphy, Olive, and Sam—with a special appearance by Kitty, the cat. It only has five works of art, but that's more than enough to make any day brighter courtesy of FUB resident dogs and a cat. The subjects are the pets of Roberto and Lorraine Young-Sylianteng.
Sy Lian Teng owned Berg Department Store, which was once housed at the five-storey First United Building. You can learn more about the family patriarch and the glory days of the department store at the First United Community Museum on the second floor.
