If you have and have scanned them on your phone, then you just got a glimpse of some of the National Museum's finest collections. A collaboration with SM Mall of Asia, ARt in MOA is a free art exhibit that brings 25 of the National Museum of Fine Art's most sought-after art pieces to life through augmented reality. What we know about this augmented reality art exhibit at the Mall of Asia:
Catch this one-of-a-kind art initiative that brings key pieces of Philippine art closer to everyone through a pop-up exhibit on the second floor of SM Mall of Asia as well as through QR codes placed around the MOA Complex. The AR displays feature the work of many revered Filipino artists, such as Félix Resurrección Hidalgo, Juan Luna, Fernando Amorsolo, Ang Kiukok, and Guillermo Tolentino. This mix of art and technology means you can virtually interact with the pieces sans the fear of damaging the precious artworks.
Through scanning the QR codes, mall-goers are able to see an image of a particular artwork from a selection of pieces curated by the Fine Arts division of the National Museum of the Philippines, such as Juan Luna's "La Bulaquena," Felix Hidalgo's "The Assassination of Governor Bustamante," Fernando Amorsolo's "Bataan," and many more.
How to view the AR artworks:
- Download the "Art.Augmented Kunstmatrix" app on your mobile device. This application is available on both App Store and Google Play Store.

Once you've downloaded the app and brought the photo up on the screen, you can play around with the painting's scale by zooming in or out with your fingers. TBH, we also discovered you can bring the artwork to life anywhere once you've downloaded the app.
