(SPOT.ph) Hamilton: The American Musical is pretty popular—a huge understatement, we know. This Broadway play pretty much changed the way people think about theater and America's Founding Fathers. If you haven't been able to watch it on the actual stage, the movie version starts streaming on Disney+ on July 3! Creator Lin-Manuel Miranda kindly dropped an epic teaser on Twitter to make sure we all remember this fact.
We know you rocked out to all the songs when the album first came out (and probably still do), so finally getting to see the musical performed on stage—virtually—will be hard to beat. The teaser featured little snippets of the musical with "Alexander Hamilton" and "Satisfied" in the background. Miranda also references the second song in his caption with the quote "May you always be satisfied," which, until we finally get to stream the #HamilFilm, we definitely won't be.
The filmed performance is of a Broadway staging at Richard Rodgers Theatre held in June 2016. You'll get to see the original cast in their roles! It lands exclusively on the Disney+ streaming platform on July 3. No official news yet on when the platform will hit Philippine shores, though it is scheduled to launch in Japan in June 2020. There are also whispers of it opening in Southeast Asia from 2020 to 2021.
