(SPOT.ph) As theaters are still shuttered amid the pandemic, theater companies are doing their best to stay afloat. Philippine Educational Theater Association adapts to the digital shift by streaming one of their hit Filipino musicals Care Divas through KTX.ph. Viewers can access the show for 24 hours between November 27 and December 7 for only P220.
Care Divas first ran in 2011 and dominated the Philstage Gawad Buhay that year with seven awards including Outstanding Ensemble performance, Outstanding Musical Production, Outstanding Stage Direction (Maribel Legarda), Outstanding Original Libretto (Liza Magtoto and Vincent de Jesus), and Outstanding Musical Direction (Vincent De Jesus). It follows the lives of five transgender overseas Filipino workers—Chelsea, Shai, Kayla, Jonee, and Thalia—who serve as caregivers by day for the elderly in Israel. By night, they perform as drag queens in a night club in Tel Aviv for extra cash.
Care Divas runs from November 27 to December 7 through KTX.ph. Tickets, which give 24-hour access to the show, are at P220.
