(SPOT.ph) When a massive fire ravaged Star City in October 2019, it wasn't only the amusement park that was lost. Along with the park rides, Aliw Theater—home of Lisa Macuja-Elizalde's dance company Ballet Manila—was also affected that the staging of Giselle back then had to be canceled. "We will rise—like a phoenix—and rebuild," the prima ballerina promised. And now, the phoenix has risen as Aliw Theater announced on August 9 that the performance arts venue is now open. Elizalde also posted on her Facebook, "The phoenix rises."
The new space has a seating capacity of 1,275, with space for the merchandise in the lobby. It is available for concerts, theatrical performances, and other live performances. Oculars are strictly by appointment through their website.
