Manila’s most delicious treats at the Top 10 Food Lists Awards and Book Launch

It was an afternoon that celebrated the best food in the city.

( First the book, then the awards. After three years of eating everything crave-worthy around town in order to compile reviews on Manila’s top 10 lechons, cheesecakes, milk shakes, pastillas, steaks, and more, awarded the best of the best recently at the Dolcelatte Restaurant in Quezon City. The event also served to launch the Top 10 Everything Food Lists, the ultimate guide to good eats in the city.


The book’s editor, associate editor-at large Joanna Manalastas says, "People go out to eat, they like discovering new twists on old favorites, and some even go out of their way in search of new culinary experiences. We felt that a guide to good food, which the editors helped pick out, would help get readers to go out, explore, and discover new things about Metro Manila-which is exactly what is all about. This makes the book the perfect companion for every food junkie’s gastronomic adventures."


As expected, the event was a food-filled affair, with awardees bringing samples of their top-ranking dishes. Among the smorgasbord were Stevie’s Hainanese Chicken, Polly’s Chocolate Cake, Cibo’s Lemon Iced Tea, General’s Lechon, Mary Grace’s Ensaymada, Lili’s Roast Duck, Bar Dolci’s Gelato, and more. Representatives from each recognized restaurant were also present to accept the award.
