(SPOT.ph) We're facing some of the hottest temperatures in our lifetime, and the only thing bringing us solace is that we can occasionally cool down with ice cream, halo-halo, or for those aiming to be slightly healthier—frozen yogurt. Back in the early 2000s, frozen yogurt, or froyo as it is fondly called, reached the peak of its popularity. Almost every corner had a froyo stand, but in recent times, we can only count the few froyo shops left standing, and we may just lose out on one more OG froyo brand as Red Mango announces that they are temporarily closing their doors.

Red Mango is temporarily closing down. Here's what we know:
In a post to their social media pages, Red Mango released a statement saying: "We’ve run out of froyo. We’re so sorry and sad to be temporarily closing our doors to you, froyo lovers. We hope for your patience and understanding as we work on restocking as soon as possible. We promise to be back with better news soon!"
We wanted to check if the news was true, and lo' and behold, trying for online delivery via their website proved futile as their banner reads, "#FroyoFromHome online ordering will be back soon!".
We even tried checking other food delivery services, such as GrabFood, and sadly, they are unavailable for delivery there too.
Though their statement on social media was clear that the closure is temporary, it doesn't say anything about a target re-opening date. We reached out to Red Mango Philippines, and they have confirmed that all their branches are temporarily closed at the moment due to a delay in the arrival of their stocks. But have reassured us that they are working to get back into the froyo serving game. TBH, we're just hoping that this hiatus doesn't last too long or, in the worst case, becomes permanent.
Red Mango is an OG in the Philippine frozen yogurt game. It originated in South Korea back in 2002 and has been recognized as the pioneer of the tart variety of nonfat frozen yogurt. Since then, Red Mango has grown to over 150 stores worldwide, with stores in the USA, South Africa, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines.
