(SPOT.ph) For napoleones hunters in Metro Manila, Cab Café—which then had branches in Kapitolyo, Cubao, and Mandaluyong—was one of the veeery few establishments that sold the square flaky pastries that Bacolod is long known for. And it only made sense that the place is known for excellent napoleones and other sweet pastries because, after all, it is owned by a Negrense by the name of Mark Magalona. In fact, Magalona is from the same family who built and managed Bacolod institution Café Bobs.
Unfortunately, after 12 years in the business, Cab Café's last standing branch in Kapitolyo, Pasig is officially no longer operational.

Kapitolyo's Cab Cafe is longer operational:
Cab Café made the unfortunate announcement on their official Facebook post that was published on the night of July 17. The post says, "We are no longer operational and we would just like to thank everyone for supporting us these past 12 years in Kapitolyo, Cubao, and Mandaluyong."
Now that Cab Café is no longer open, we'll definitely miss the napoleones and other pastries they have. And while there are many yema cakes and cheesecakes in the Metro, we're definitely going to need time to heal from the heartbreak caused by the impossibility of having one more bite of the cafe's Full Moon Yema Cake and the fruity cheesecakes.
While we can't call it exactly a silver lining—not until our next out-of-Manila trip, anyway—you can drop by Café Bobs on your next trip to Bacolod. They do have a few similar items on the menu, such as the Blueberry Cheesecake, Mango Pavlova, and the Naked Ube Pastillas Cake.
