(SPOT.ph) Mom was right. It makes a huge difference when you eat right—that is, when you eat balanced meals made primarily with whole foods and other wholesome ingredients, in just-right portions. Fueling your system with better-for-you eats helps you power through (and feel amazing throughout) the day, minus the slump that typically follows downing heavier, greasier options.

Perhaps the first thing that comes to mind given that premise is a salad—which, to be clear, is delish in its own right. But that's not your only option when you're looking to nourish your system. Consider, too, the grain bowl—hearty bowls with your grains of choice, protein(s), veg, and other embellishments, which can absolutely satisfy on both the health and taste front with its contrasting colors, tastes, and textures when done right. It's all about great grain bowls at the newly opened HeyBo!, which is making a splash at Central Square in BGC—with special promos this opening week to boot!

Here's what to try from good-for-you food spot HeyBo! in BGC:

Grain bowls are the name of the game for this eatery from Singapore, which recently opened their first Philippine branch at BGC's Central Square mall. It hails from the group behind SaladStop!—so they definitely know a thing or two about serving up good-for-you provisions that your taste buds will thank you for. Pro tip: if you drop by today, August 14 until on Wednesday, August 16, you can get a complimentary P100 HeyBo gift voucher with a minimum spend of P500!

They've got a couple of premade Signature Bos you can't go wrong with. The Muscle Beach (P280) brings together tri-color quinoa, sous-vide chicken breast, charred carrots and broccoli, avocado, mixed seeds, a beetroot-chipotle dip, and yuzu-soy dressing; those looking for a feistier bite can go for the Latin American-style El Patron (P280) with mixed grains, a vegan Mexican patty, capsicums, spiced black beans, a tomato salad, tortilla chips, an avocado-edamame dip, and smoky sriracha.

Love Asian flavors? Hey Bo's got your back with bowls like the Indian-style Spice Trade (P350) with cauliflower-lentil rice, falafel, spiced chickpeas, fried eggplant, a carrot salad, murukku chips, a red-pepper dip, and tzatziki; the Japanese-inspired Shibuya Nights (P375) with green soba, baked salmon, grilled mushrooms, a soft-boiled egg, a cabbage salad, furikake, their avocado-edamame dip, and a beetroot-miso dressing; and Indonesian-leaning Kampong Table (P280) with mixed grains, roasted lemongrass chicken, crispy tempeh, soft-boild egg, cabbage salad, lime wedge, white bean and cauliflower dip, and green chutney.

HeyBo isn't backing down from delivering comfort, either. There's the Sunday Roast (P375) that stars steak along with tricolor quinoa, charred corn, roasted pumpkin, a tomato salad, garlic breadcrumbs, a beetroot-chipotle dip, and balsamic butter; and the Humba Wumba (P350) with braised pork humba along with garlic black rice, charred corn, fried eggplant, a winged-bean salad, spiced peanuts, their white bean-cauliflower dip, and pineapple tamarind dressing. The latter also happens to be a Philippine exclusive, along with the Off the Hook (P450) bowl of garlic black rice, halibut adobo, charred corn, Thai basil, tofu, a winged-bean salad, coconut lime spice, a red-pepper dip, and moringa vinaigrette.

Prefer to take charge of your meals? You have the option to Build Your Own Bo! (starts at P320) and customize your bowl from the base (mixed grains, tricolor quinoa, green soba, garlic black rice, and cauliflower-lentil rice), protein (roasted lemongrass chicken, vegan Mexican patty, baked salmon, and so on), sides (carrot salad, charred broccoli, soft-boiled egg, and more—choose three), sauces (smoky sriracha, beetroot miso, balsamic butter, et cetera), garnishes (tortilla chips, coconut lime spice, and more), and dip (avocado edamame, white bean and cauliflower, and so on).

To go with your bowl, sip away on their Kombucha (P150)—which comes in fun, fruity flavor options of Midnight Lychee, Pineapple Express, and Coconut Summer. Now you're all set to continue to slay the day at work, home, or wherever else you're headed. That feeling of being energized and satisfied is a reward in itself; if you can keep your taste buds happy, all the better.
