Pink's Hot Dogs Enters a New Chapter With a Bigger and Better Space in BGC

(SPOT.ph) Hot dogs are great on their own, but stuff them into a sliced long bun and you get magic. Pink's, considered to be one of the most famous hot dog places in the world, has pretty much perfected the art of doing so in Los Angeles, and in 2016 they also brought their signatures to Manila. Fast-forward to today: this first Philippines branch has recently gone through a major makeover. We're talking Princess Diaries-levels transformation—or Pretty Woman, if you're older.

If you've ever been to Pink's before it was renovated—which would be anywhere between 2016 and early 2023—then you already know where you can find the refurbished branch. It can be found in the exact same space, specifically at Shangri-la The Fort, but this time, the space it occupies is bigger, the interiors are more modern, and there's a returning item on the menu worthy of splurging. Let's go through all the big and small changes, shall we?
One of the biggest, noticeable changes at Pink's is its size, which can visibly be seen by just how many entrances there are: four main entrances leading to four main rooms. From the far left to the right, the once-hidden entrance to Hotel Bar speakeasy can now be accessed from the front; the second is a separate sports bar where multiple screens displaying different sports games are installed on the walls; the third is the main door that leads to Pink's; and lastly, the main entrance to the new pizzeria, Pizza Sisters. Right in between Pink's and Pizza Sisters is another not-technically-entrance entrance. It's a "Take Out" dessert kiosk with a ginormous window, and inside is a special soft-serve ice cream that's exclusive to Pink's and Pizza Sisters brands.

The Pink's menu is pretty much the same, from the Classic Cheeseburger (P350), Double Cheeseburger (P480), and Fried Chicken Sandwich (P480). Of course, there's also the Pink's Classic Dog (P295) and the signature Chili Cheese Dog (P345), Texas BBQ Dog (P320), East LA Street Dog (P320), and the return of a signature sausage (more on this later).
If you're not yet sold on visiting the reopened Pink's, the return of the signature Bahn Mi Dog is reason enough to drop by. This all-beef sausage is served in between soft buns (baked in-house) and gets the quintessential bahn mi flavors by slathering the buns with sriracha-mayonnaise on one side, and hoisin on the other. It gets more texture and a strong tangy punch from the pickled daikon and carrots topping.
The flavors of the Bahn Mi dog are quite strong, from the tang of the pickled vegetables, the from the salty, sweet flavor of the hoisin sauce, the spicy kick from the sriracha dressing, and the meaty flavor of the sausage. You'd think these flavors would all fight for thy attention—but nope, no wars ensue, as they equally shine in every bite.
The thing with the new layout of Pink's is that you can also cross-order from Pizza Sisters if you want to pair your burger or sausage with pizza, and Hotel Bar if you want something boozy to pair with your food. But if you don't want a cocktail or beer but instead want a cool, sweet drink, we highly recommend ordering the Vanilla Milkshake (P220) from the Pizza Sisters menu. It's a classic no-frills, no-fuss sweet drink that can do no wrong.
