(SPOT.ph) Filipino restaurant Cabel in San Miguel, Manila (near Malacañang Palace) is JC Cabel Moreno's tribute to his grandparents' love for cooking. The menu, which spans dishes from Luzon to Mindanao, is inspired by her family's roots. He was born in Sulu and raised in Zamboanga, so he and his siblings grew up eating Mindanaoan cuisine, especially those prepared by his grandmother and mother.
According to Moreno, Cabel's menu isnāt trying to make things modern nor about giving Filipino food a wild twist. Itās about highlighting beloved flavors as faithfully as possible. Just as their mom and grandmother cooked with love and gusto back home, so does their culinary team at Cabel.
