(SPOT.ph) There's a certain appeal behind boozy, PG-18 versions of popular soda brands. First, there's no need to play mixologist and do the extra step of mixing drinks; and second, these drinks easily satisfy the needs of both our younger and older selves. It's nostalgia, but all grown up.

Now, there are a lot of alcoholic sodas in the market to choose from, but if you consider yourself a Mountain Dew fan, you should meet its uninhibited and intoxicating version: The Hard Mountain Dew.

Meet Mountain Dew's younger, wilder, and freer sister: The Hard Mountain Dew

Mountain Dew—which is often spelled Mtn Dew in other countries, JICYDK—has launched a boozy canned version called the Hard Mountain Dew. This was first launched in the United States back in 2022 and is considered the first alcoholic drink produced by its company PepsiCo.

Hard Mountain Dew is described as a "flavored malt beverage," and it comes in four fruity flavors, namely the Mountain Dew (classic), Baja Blast (lime), Livewire (orange), and Watermelon. This line of drinks has 5% alcohol by volume (ABV), and it is said to contain zero caffeine and no added sugar.

When is the Hard Mountain Dew coming to the Philippines?

It's been years since it was launched, and if you've been sourcing the Hard Mountain Dew through resellers and pasabuys, you no longer have to as it's soon coming to the Philippines. Yup, we spotted the Hard Mountain Dew Instagram account—fr, fr. From the multiple teasers they've posted, it looks like the product's official launch in the Philippines is on September 8, 2024, but the products are actually already available at selected stores right now, like The Marketplace, Robinsons Supermarket, Robinsons Easymart, Shopwise, SM Supermarket, Puregold, and Alfamart.

As for the Hard Mountain Dew that will be made available in the Philippines, we're only getting two flavors out of the four, namely the Hard Mountain Dew Original (citrus) and Hard Mountain Dew Beach Blast (tropical fruits). It retails for P62 per 330ml, but take note that prices may vary depending on where you buy it.

This goes without saying, but we'll say it anyway: Drink responsibly.
