(SPOT.ph) There's no denying that 8Cuts is one of the best burger spots in the Metro—that, plus they really have one of the best onion rings that pair well with the burgers. Now, I wouldn't be surprised if you already have your 8Cuts burger favorite (my 8Cuts bias is the Bleu 2.0) that you order without even a peep at the menu anymore, but what if I told you it could be better? Because, yes, it is possible.

For those who want their burgers with extra texture and a deeper, more savory flavor, 8Cuts is celebrating its 12th anniversary with a limited-time offer to upgrade your go-to burger with a Double Smash Patty.

Here's what you need to know about 8Cuts' Double Smash Patty upgrade

Maybe it is the same with food as it is with fashion when they say trends are a cycle— because we're sure glad there's a smash burger resurgence and that Moment Group's 8Cuts is joining in on the fun. Starting November 15, you can order any of 8Cuts' core burgers, i.e.: Cheeseburger (P299), Meathead (P299), OG Burger (P285), Four Cheese 2.0 (P395), Piggy (P395), Hangover 2.0 (P410), Q Daddy (P410), and Bleu 2.0 (P395), with two smashed patties.

8Cuts will offer the Double Smash Patty from November 15 to December 15—you have a month, no excuses! It will be available for solo orders or you can get it as a Smash Steal set that comes with your choice of sides: Oh-Rings or Skinny Fries, and a glass of iced tea. If you opt to upgrade your burger as a meal, this is an additional P120 for dine-in transactions, and P135 for takeaway and delivery.

What are smash burgers?

New to smash burgers? The smashed patties are way thinner compared to the extra-thick, extra-juicy patties that are usually the selling points of most burger joints. This burger gets its name from its patties' distinct crispy, lacy edges that are caused by "smashing" the meat on a hot grill. Since it is more toasted (a.k.a. Maillard reaction), it also has a deeper meaty, umami flavor.
