(SPOT.ph) Much like other former colonies, Singapore is a melting pot of cuisines. And among its beloved "mixed breed" spots is Tiong Bahru Bakery. While it does have a proudly Singaporean name—it's named after a neighborhood in the Lion City known for its charming cafes, heritage eats, and vibrant murals—this bakery's specialty lies in crafting French pastries. Think buttery, flaky croissants, pain au chocolates, and a Kouign Amann people keep coming back for.

There are several branches of Tiong Bahru Bakery in Singapore but it's finally opening a store in the Philippines. We have the details you, um, knead if you're itching to get your hands on their famous kwasongs.

The news about Tiong Bahru Bakery opening in the Philippines came about last year when Jollibee Food Corporation (JFC) announced they have plans to bring the Singaporean bakery to our shores. And just in case you need a refresher: This was announced the same time as JFC bringing in another Singaporean brand, the Common Man Coffee Roasters.

Common Man Coffee Roasters opened at Ayala Triangles last year and now Tiong Bahru Bakery is opening on the other side of EDSA, in the neighborhood of Bonifacio Global City. The Tiong Bahru Bakery board-up has been in full public display for months now, and you must have spotted it if you frequent the same area as Auro Chocolate Café in BGC.

As for the other important matter at hand: "When is Tiong Bahru Bakery opening in BGC?" Well, SPOT.ph was told it's opening this December. While there's no specific opening date yet, at least the period of anticipation is shorter because Christmas month is just a few days away. 

What to expect (and manifest) when Tiong Bahru Bakery opens in the Philippines:

Is it too much to ask if we want all the bestsellers? Tiong Bahru Bakery's pastry hits are the Croissant (Plain and Ham & Cheese), Pain Au Chocolate, Kouign Amann, Egg Mayo & Salmon Mousse Sandwich, Lemon Tart and Blueberry Small Batch Granola. And of course, we're crossing our fingers the coffee will be available, too, when the BGC branch opens.
