Ijo Bakery to Open a New Store at Paseo Outlet in Laguna

(SPOT.ph) Everyone loves to argue about the best croissants in Metro Manila. One of the popular contenders for the title? The pastries of Ijo Bakery in Lipa, Batangas. Granted, they aren't as accessible as we'd want them to be given the location, but they're still worth all the effort—as one bite into a crisp, flaky piece would tell you.

While they have Metro Manila deliveries weekly (bless them), there will be a relatively closer branch where we can soon get 'em flaky, golden brown crescent pastries. The viennoiserie is opening a physical store in Santa Rosa, Laguna. It's still not in Metro Manila, but it is a lot closer. We'll take what we can get, all in the name of croissants.

Here's what we know so far about Ijo Bakery's new branch:

Ijo Bakery Viennoiserie has other physical stores, both in Batangas; there’s one along National Highway, and the other is along President Jose P. Laurel Highway. Both of these stores are more than an hour away if you're coming from Metro Manila but with Ijo Bakery opening soon at Paseo Outlet in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, this won't take you more than an hour—if you're coming from the South, and if there's light traffic.

SPOT.ph got in touch with Ijo Bakery and they mentioned their target opening month is June this year, but that there's no specific date yet. This, at least, gives us an idea that it is opening in a few months and that we can plan a trip to the South during this month—perhaps a little retail therapy at Paseo Outlet, followed by a well-earned croissant fest at Ijo Bakery?

You can expect their signature baked pastries on the menu, like the Almond Croissant, Dulce Banana, Nutella Escargot, and Flan Brulee to name a few. But as far as new pastries go, Ijo Bakery says "There aren't any branch exclusives yet for this [Paseo Outlet] branch." But we’ll take that "yet" as a promising hint—and keep our fingers crossed for some new menu surprises.
