(SPOT.ph) You might think you’ve tried it all in the realm of ensaymada, but this new treat from Panaderya Toyo is might just change all of that. Dubbed the EnsayNada (P200), this creation features the Hispanic-Filipino pastry employing a bread base made with a layered dough that has red rice flour (in addition to the panaderya’s special patent flour), butter, and queso de bola in the mix, and—like all of Panaderya Toyo’s creations—naturally leavened with sourdough.
Flaky and buttery, the EnsayNada is then topped with a generous slather of buttercream and more finely grated queso de bola that takes each forkful over the top. It's treat that takes the ensaymada experience and raises the bar up several notches—just as you'd expect from this local artisanal bakery.
