They're Closed, But You Can Still Get the Famous People’s Palace Pad Thai
(SPOT.ph) The pandemic has hit the restaurant industry especially hard, and many have closed in the meantime—including Thai favorite People’s Palace. According to their website, People’s Palace will remain closed “for the foreseeable future.” We were able to confirm this with Blackbird's Head Cashier Tina Palanca through phone call, who says People's Palace will remain closed until further notice.
In the meantime, you can still get your fix of People’s Palace bestsellers over at their fellow Chef Colin Mackay-helmed restaurant, Blackbird, including their famous Pad Thai Goong (P580). Also known as stir-fried noodles with prawns, it was fourth on our 2011 Top 10 Pad Thai in Manila list and stands out with al dente noodles and mix of savory, tangy, and sweet.
Blackbird is open for dine-in and takeaway from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. They also offer delivery around Makati and BGC, and those in other areas can opt to book their own courier, such as Lalamove.
Also on the menu are other People’s Palace specialties, like the crispy Fried Tiger Prawns in Crispy Egg Noodles and Chili Sauce (P540) and the ultra-refreshing Prawn, Pomelo, and Coconut Salad (P540). Got a hankering for curries? People’s Palace’s takes are some of the most flavorful in town—choose from the Green Chicken Curry, Pea Eggplant, and Basil with Thai Rice (P640) or the Red Curry of Roast Duck Leg, Lychee, and Tomatoes with Thai Rice (P820).
People’s Palace is a Thai restaurant that opened in 2000 and was originally located at Greenbelt 3. They’re known for their classic Thai dishes with fresh and balanced flavors, coupled with the restaurant's chic and modern atmosphere.
Blackbird is at Nielson Tower, 1221 Makati Avenue, Salcedo Village, Makati City. For more information, check out Blackbird’s Facebook page or official website. You can also check out People’s Palace’s official website.
